How important is the context, in which you perform, to you?
First of all, music is a collective activity, and for us, the performers, people who listen are always vital. As long as there is an audience, our pursuit matters. It is necessary that a message, whatever it might be, is conveyed to the audience who listens to us. By whatever music and means, a communication link must be established involving a sender, a message and a receiver. That’s the main goal of music and in that sense, our audience plays a crucial role by giving us feedback. Having completed that circle, our mission will be fulfilled.
