All sound can be special – when I choose to make it special.
How do you go about writing for a specific space?
I like to think of sound – or any vibrating material – as an actor in the space. Not every actor needs to be seen or heard, but their presence still matters. Even in a white cube, there are subtle temperatures, textures, and the quiet architecture of feeling. I try to start from that, and imagine: who or what belongs to this space?
What instrument has yet to be invented?
The ear.
Geboren 1989 in Japan. Nile Koetting arbeitet mit einer Vielzahl von Formaten wie Installation, Licht, Performance, Szenografie und Sound. Seine künstlerischen Projekte erforschen eine neue Wahrnehmung des Austauschs zwischen materiellen und immateriellen, lebenden und nicht-lebenden Wesen in einer Landschaft aus performativer Zeit und Raum.
