Workshop with application process (Internal Call for Composers)
Tutors: Clara Iannotta, Yaron Deutsch
When: 21 July – 31 July (four sessions, 2.5h each)
Who: Composers (chosen from the Call for Composers, already registered for Composition), participants of the guitar studio
Application deadline: 20 March 2025
Internal Call for Composers
Participating composers are invited to write a short piece for guitar or e-guitar (up to 5 minutes maximum) to be worked on and realized by guitarists from the guitar studio. The workshop aims at developing and exploring collaborative strategies with the new works serving as a departure point. Pieces can be purely acoustic or make use of „objects“, pedals, and in some cases, simple electronic set up (performed by the composer).
Four composers will be selected from the call and will be notified no later than 30 March. Apart from the composers writing the new pieces, any composer/performer registered for the Darmstadt Summer Course is welcome to join the workshop (four sessions, 2.5h each) on the basis of available space (class can accommodate approx. 20 guests).
Performances of the resulting pieces are possible (if technical requirements permit) at any of the various Open Space rooms available, and are to be handled independently by the composers-performers of the pieces.
Application
All composers must be registered participants of the Darmstadt Summer Course 2025.
