All sound can be special – when I choose to make it special.
How do you go about writing for a specific space?
I like to think of sound – or any vibrating material – as an actor in the space. Not every actor needs to be seen or heard, but their presence still matters. Even in a white cube, there are subtle temperatures, textures, and the quiet architecture of feeling. I try to start from that, and imagine: who or what belongs to this space?
What instrument has yet to be invented?
The ear.
Nile Koetting ist ein Künstler, der mit einer Vielzahl von Formaten wie Installation, Licht, Performance, Szenografie und Sound arbeitet. In seinen künstlerischen Projekten erforscht er eine neue Dramaturgie für performative Zeit und Raum. Seine Werke und Projekte wurden international in Institutionen wie dem Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian, dem Palais de Tokyo, der Sharjah Art Foundation und dem Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum präsentiert.
