Participants: Singers of any discipline can take part in the studio. Other participants of the Summer Course (composers, performers and instrumentalists who are interested in the use of voice and body in their work) are welcome to join as listeners or collaborators.

Course fee: 450€ (+15€ system and booking fees)

Free Your Mind
6-11 August

Elaine Mitchener leads a workshop week demonstrating liberating and inclusive approaches to making music with a large group. The course will draw on the ideas and practices of artists including concrete poetry, free-improvisation, Fluxus composition, and movement practices to show how they can unlock individual creativity and organize and direct group activity. Participants should come prepared for movement and serious play. Expect the unexpected!

Wellbeing Weekend
12 & 13 August

In the middle of the Summer Course we take a moment to breathe, to ask ourselves and one another how we think about vocal health, how we tend to our whole bodies and how we learn to read our creative compasses. With Elaine and Juliet.

Singing Notes on Paper
14-19 August

Juliet Fraser leads a week of masterclasses, workshops and discussions for advanced singers. Participants will be asked to bring 3 pieces of their own choice which will be worked on in a daily masterclass setting. We will also dig deep into the topic of notation: contemporary vocal scores are an amalgam of strict rules, messy pluralism and wilful anarchy — do we know what’s what?! Other topics will include programming, commissioning and collaborating.

Solo sessions

For solo repertoire the participants and tutors can arrange additional sessions individually.
