Born in 1981 in Italy. Giulia Monducci’s music has been performed at international festivals and venues, such as the ABC Southbank Centre (Melbourne), Ankara Music Festival, Chigiana International Festival (Siena), La Monnaie / De Munt (Brussels), Festival 5 Giornate (Milan), KALV Festival, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (New York City), Ljubljana Festival, London New Wind Festival, Lviv National Philharmonic, Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Rainy Days Festival (Luxembourg), Sheldonian Theatre (Oxford), Schönbrunn Palace (Vienna), Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music (Wroclaw).
Her works have been awarded at international contests, broadcasted on national radios across Europe (DRS, Rai Radio 3, RTV, VRT, etc.) and performed by ensembles like BL!NDMAN, Ensemble This | Ensemble That, Klangforum Wien, Norrbotten NEO, Quartetto Prometeo, Schallfeld Ensemble, thingNY, Ukho Ensemble Kyiv and United Instruments of Lucilin, among others.
A graduate from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the “G.B. Martini” Conservatory of Bologna, she studied with Pierluigi Billone, Azio Corghi and Salvatore Sciarrino. She has been Composer-in-Residence at Visby International Centre for Composers (Gotland/Sweden), Neimenster (Luxembourg), Co.iki (Tokyo) and is currently a PhD candidate in Composition at the University of Oxford.
