How important is the context, in which you perform, to you?

Since my pieces always include references that are related to a certain context or topic, it is quite important in what kind of context I present them. I often work with ambiguous text material or musical quotations that require a certain knowledge (e.g. knowledge of musical references).

Which skill, that you’ve learned by performing music, helps you in everyday life?

Sensitivity for the needs of other people. I often perceive everyday situations like chamber musical interactions, where it is important to listen carefully, wait, get an idea of another person’s rhythm.

What makes artistic collaboration work?

Team play, collegiality, brutal honesty, confidence and an exploding mixture of creative energy that targets a common goal.
