Jack Adler-McKean (Tuba)

It is certainly no exaggeration to say that Jack Adler-McKean is one of the most active and go-getting tuba players of his generation. In addition to his various solo performances and as a guest with many renowned ensembles and orchestras, the 2018 Darmstadt Summer Course scholarship winner has also emerged as the editor of the “Contemporary Music for Tuba” series at Edition Gravis and author of the book “The Techniques of Tuba Playing”, published by Bärenreiter Verlag. Adler-McKean returns to Darmstadt with a program tailored entirely to his virtuosic abilities and interests: he commissioned all of the four works by Anahita Abbasi, Bára Gísladóttir, Sarah Nemtsov and Martin Iddon.
