How to get here

Closest Airport: FRA
If you cannot travel by train and have to fly, we recommend booking a flight to Frankfurt Airport (FRA).
A flight to Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) is not advisable, as the bus ride to Darmstadt takes two and a half hours!
From Frankfurt Airport to Darmstadt
The best way to get from Frankfurt Airport to Darmstadt is to take the bus “AIR” to Darmstadt and get off at “Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof (central station)”. The bus “AIR” departs from terminal 1 and the journey takes about half an hour.
A one-way ticket can be purchased cashless (occasionally also in cash) from the bus driver for €10.40. Holders of a Deutschland-Ticket pay €3.80.

Parking your car
If you are coming by car, please note that there are only a few free parking spaces near the Maritim. However, there are plenty of parking spaces near the Lichtenbergschule campus.

The RMVgo App is very useful for schedule information and ticket purchase.
There is also a bike rental system in Darmstadt: Call a Bike. One of many Call a Bike stations is located between Darmstadt Central and the Maritim Hotel.
There are also several apps (Voi, Lime, Bolt, dott/Tier) you can use to rent an e-scooter. Please be particularly careful when you are out and about on an e-scooter. In Darmstadt, there are many tramway rails that can be very dangerous for bicycles and e-scooters.
