Trio Catch
Ensemble

Trio Catch, founded in 2010, is one of the leading chamber music ensembles for contemporary music. It works with numerous young and many renowned composers, including Georges Aperghis, Isabel Mundry and Helmut Lachenmann.
A busy concert schedule has taken Trio Catch all over Europe and to Asia, as well as to festivals such as Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Festival d’Automne à Paris and Milano Musica. Highlights of recent seasons have included performances at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin, the Kölner Philharmonie and the Wiener Konzerthaus.
The trio‘s artistic work is documented on several CDs, including the award-winning recording “As if”, which won the German Record Critics’ Award, the Supersonic Award and the Clef d’Or from ResMusica. The most recent CD “Gassenhauer” was released in 2024 on the bastille musique label.
In 2012, the trio was awarded the Hermann and Milena Ebel Prize in Hamburg, followed by the Berenberg Culture Prize in 2014 and the Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize in 2018. In the 2015/16 season, Trio Catch was also a “Rising Stars” of the European Concert Hall Organization.
Since 2016, Trio Catch has been organizing the discussion concert series “Ohrknacker”, which presents a selected contemporary work written especially for the trio in four concerts each year.
