Juliet Fraser

Voice Tutor

Born in 1980. Soprano Juliet Fraser specialises in the gnarly edges of contemporary classical music. Internationally recognised as a committed interpreter of new music, she regularly appears as a guest soloist with ensembles such as Musikfabrik, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern, Remix, Talea and Quatuor Bozzini, and as a duo with pianist Mark Knoop. Juliet is an active commissioner of new repertoire and has worked particularly closely with composers Laurence Crane, Pascale Criton, Catherine Lamb, Cassandra Miller and Rebecca Saunders. Juliet is artistic director of the eavesdropping festival in London and programme director of VOICEBOX, a new initiative for singers specialising in contemporary vocal performance. Her essays have been published by Sounds Now, Glissando, MaerzMusik, TEMPO and Wolke. In 2023 she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music by the University of Southampton.

In 2025, she will be a tutor in Darmstadt for the second time.
