Leonie Reineke
Jury Kranichstein Music Prize
Born in 1989. Leonie Reineke studied musicology and singing at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She is a radio producer and presenter for new music at Südwestrundfunk and works as a freelance author and presenter for the cultural broadcasting programs of ARD and Deutschlandradio. Her work focuses on the music of the 20th and 21st century. She is a member of the New Music Project Advisory Board of Podium Gegenwart | German Music Council and regularly gives guest lectures, courses and seminars at universities and music academies, including Essen, Hamburg, Berlin and Zurich. In 2015, 2016 and 2020 she planned and directed the festival “nano” for contemporary music in Essen. She has served on various juries, including the Fonds Experimentelles Musiktheater, the Darmstadt Summer Course and the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne, among others. In 2017 she was awarded the Folkwang Prize in the field of musicology; in 2018 she received the Reinhard Schulz Prize for contemporary music journalism.
