Gerardo Scheige

Born in 1979 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Studied musicology, theater, film and television studies as well as German studies at the University of Cologne; master’s degree with a thesis on Mauricio Kagel’s five string quartets. From 2013 to 2024 coordination of the funding projects “Edition Zeitgenössische Musik” and “European Workshop for Contemporary Music” (Deutscher Musikrat gGmbH); from 2021 to 2024 project assistant of the ensemble Kollektiv3:6Koeln. In addition, he is doing his doctorate at the University of Cologne on compositional reflections on death in new music after 1945 and is active as an author (articles, broadcasts, program booklet texts, introductions). From 2016 to 2023 editor at the Darmstadt Summer Course; since October 2024 project manager at the International Music Institute Darmstadt.
