Klarinette

Studio Heather Roche & Ernesto Molinari

Zweiwöchiges Interpretationsstudio

Dozentin/Dozent: Heather Roche, Ernesto Molinari

Kursgebühr: 480€ (+16,50€ System- und Buchungsgebühr)

The Darmstadt Clarinet Studio will have a broad focus, encouraging close collaboration with composers, detailed work on extended techniques (in particular multiphonics), improvisation and electronics.

The first three days of the studio will be led by Ernesto Molinari, who will be discussing spectral music, the CLEX contrabass clarinet and improvisatory techniques across different genres. He will also be offering lessons to interested participants, as time allows.

The remainder of the course will be led by Heather Roche, who will facilitate daily sessions for the clarinet studio on topics including (but not limited to!) the following:

  • Building an advanced multiphonic practice
  • Developing the clarinetist’s independence with electronics (an intro to max/MSP and other important software packages necessary for solo performance with electronics)
  • Extended techniques
  • Professional practice
  • Contemporary solo repertoire from the last 50 years

She will also be offering lessons to individual clarinetists as well as chamber music coaching for any pre-existing or courses-formed chamber music groups throughout the course.

The Clarinet Studio at Darmstadt will also be participating in a workshop with Hans Thomalla’s Composition Studio, with composers selected to write new pieces for our studio and a concert at the end of the Summer Course.
