Augmented Trombone for Movement & Live Electronics

I have been developing a sensor-augmented trombone called the mubone over the last few years with digital instrument designer Travis West. The mubone allows for the coexistence of movement, gesture, and choreography alongside my performance and improvisational practice. This has led to the creation of Garcia, for solo performer (augmented trombone & movement) which I will share at this talk. I will also demo the mubone in the hopes of gathering ideas and feedback from Darmstadt participants of how the mubone might work in collaborative settings.
