“No Thing But Everything” – A Proposed Analytical Method of Composed Theatre

I will be presenting my papers on a proposed system of analysis for works of composed theatre using examples of the music from composers such as Jani Christou, Mark Applebaum, and George Aperghis. My system of analysis for this genre is influenced from the work of theorists James Tenney and Dora Hannninen, in which hierarchies of elements are proposed and analyzed mathematically in order to better understand morphology of all sonic elements.
