Ritual Schizophonia: Harp & Sonic Obfuscation

Harpist Melissa Achten leads an open workshop/performance discussing how the physical mechanism of the harp invites the use of schizophonic gestures to evoke dislocated & mysterious sound worlds. It will include the screening of her latest commission from composer (and fellow Darmstadt participant) Marguerite Brown as well as performance excerpts from other recent commissions that channel this approach. Hands-on participation and harp exploration encouraged!
