Call for Composers
Twelve composers are invited to take part in an intensive six-day course with tutors Sarah Nemtsov and Gunnhildur Einarsdóttir and her harp class. During the course the composers compose a short piece for harp in close collaboration with a harpist and with guidance from the tutors. The course’s main emphasis is on the collaborative process.
The course will cover topics such as:
- an introduction to contemporary harp techniques and notation
- close collaboration between composers and performers
- experimentation on a single sound, gesture or action
- improvisational and explorative techniques
- precise notation and communication between performer and composer
A concert of the new harp miniatures will take place on 11th August.

Day 1 (6 August 2023)

15.00–18.00 Group Sessions 1, 2 composers + 1 player in 6 rooms

Application
All composers must be registered participants of the Darmstadt Summer Course.
Please submit:
2 recent scores (PDF) and a short CV (PDF), plus the relevant recordings (please note, not necessarily for harp).
Please upload the recordings on a cloud and provide the link in a PDF. No download of files possible.
