Monika Zyla
Monika Żyła (she, her) is a musicologist, cultural theorist, author, artistic director, photographer, pianist, and multimedia storyteller. Together with Andoz Krishnadas, she runs EPYC Studio, dedicated to sustainable and inclusive architecture and design. She regularly writes, publishes, speaks, and hosts public discussions on contemporary music, sound art, and global audio cultures. She gives workshops and lectures on contemporary music, dance, and sound art, both in the academic and festival contexts. She has taught at several European universities and art schools on both BA and MA levels. Currently, Monika is affiliated with the University of Salzburg, the University of Vienna, and the Berlin University of the Arts. Her articles have been published by Seismograf, Glissando, Ruch Muzyczny, Contemporary Music Review, Circuit, musiques contemporaines, Norient, and Turba: The Journal for Global Practices in Live Arts Curation. She created and produced a podcast series “333for33”. She currently serves as an editor-in-chief for the #43 issue of Glissando Magazine on Diversity and Curating. She works as a research fellow for the Sounds Now network.
