Born 1970 in London/UK. He studied at Winchester College and Cambridge University. His teachers were Robert Bottone, Susan Bradshaw, and Sulamita Aronovsky. He also studied composition with Michael Finnissy and Robin Holloway. New Music is at the center of his concertizing, though he also enjoys combining modern and classical works. He was a soloist with such orchestras as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonics of Tokyo, Stockholm, and Helsinki; the Bamberg Symphony; the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; and diverse Radio Orchestras of Germany and the UK, working with conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Oliver Knussen, James Levine, Jonathan Nott, Peter Rundel, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and Hans Zender. Numerous works were written specially for him, among them the piano concerto with video projection „In Seven Days“, by Thomas Adès, and Elliott Carter’s piano concerto „Dialogues“, of which he and the London Sinfonietta have given first performances in many countries since its premiere in 2004. He is pianist of Trio Accanto (together with Christian Dierstein and Marcus Weiss). Hodges has been piano tutor at the Darmstadt Summer Course since 2000.
