Group and single lessons with different tutors
On January 15, the bookable spots for composition (50% of the contingent) were taken within a few minutes, the other part must still be kept free for the workshop calls.
🚨 If you have not been able to book a spot, you can apply as a composer for one of the Open Calls for Composers (application deadline for most of them is 10 February) and thus obtain a spot for composition. You can of course apply for more than one workshop. However, if you are accepted in more than one, please be prepared for the fact that you may have to make a decision because some activities overlap or are too time-consuming.

If you’ve registered for composition, you are right to expect to get in close contact with the composition tutors of the Darmstadt Summer Course. All composition tutors can plan individually how they would like to organize their classes: in small groups, as one-to-one lessons, in the form of special workshops, with or without selection procedure etc.
Early enough before the Summer Course all registered participants for composition will receive an e-mail in which we ask for your preferences concerning the tutors in order to find out for which tutors there is the highest demand. This will be compared and adjusted afterwards according to the tutors’ timetables. We cannot guarantee a place with a certain composer, but we try to find fair solutions together with the tutors to comply your interests in the best way possible. In addition, there will be plenty of last-minute offers and open formats during the Summer Course. After having registered, you can of course also apply for one or more workshops. If you take part in one or possibly even several workshops with our composition tutors, this will be your main activity. Additional individual or group lessons with other tutors are possible, but the extent depends on how intensive the workshops are.
