Who: Open to all Summer Course participants, but: many active participants have already signed up for the workshop. In order to make the time together as productive and intense as possible, a group of more than 30 musicians would be difficult. That’s why we had to close the inscription. Depending on the room size we might be able to welcome listeners, but that has to be decided on site.
“Parametric Improvisation” is a seminar & workshop intended for all those interested in creative sound processing as means of musical expression. Though mainly conceived from an improviser’s perspective this four-day marathon of activities is suited also for performers and composers mainly engaged with written music. Featuring Austrian guitarist Martin Siewert as main figure alongside the American composer/performer Katherine Young and Israeli guitarist Yaron Deutsch, the three will offer – through a series of presentations – a variety of tools related with sonic thinking, sound processing and their appliances in improvised (and written) music.
