Tobias Hagedorn: Makrokreise
“Makrokreise (macro circles) is made up of extremely long repetitions. These are durations in which it is only just possible to level off and to be able to expect the point in time of the repetition. The music was created with a composition tool specially programmed for the piece and is based on simple sounds which, due to their material, have a unique tonal characteristic: wood, metal and glass.”
Tobias Hagedorn (* 1987 in Moers) studied church music and electronic composition at the HfMT Cologne. He then studied composition at the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main. In his work, specifically programmed sound generation processes are connected to conventional instruments. Hagedorn was a scholarship holder of the Mozart Foundation and currently teaches electronic / algorithmic music theory at the University of Music in Trossingen.
