Wolfgang Rihm (1952 – 2024) 🤍

It was with great dismay and sadness that we learned of the death of Wolfgang Rihm, who passed away on the night of 27 July after a long illness. We have lost an important companion and friend of many years. On the occasion of his 70th birthday two years ago, we recorded an interview at his home in Karlsruhe. Rihm talks about his formative years at the Darmstadt Summer Course. Above all, however, he himself has been deeply influential as an artist and as a teacher to countless composers. The music world will miss him immensely.
