Christian Fischer: Depicted Scopes

“The successive and partially manipulated soundscapes were recorded binaurally from 2011 to 2021 in Cairo (downtown and on the Nile near Maadi), in Weimar and in Fulda, as well as in Tallinn when it rained at night. Like diary entries, they represent excerpts from my life at different places of residence. Some entries are acoustically underlined, whereby the reason for this is left to the speculative interpretation of the listeners.”

Christian Fischer began experimenting with electronic instruments, computers and video already at an early age. He studied media design at Bauhaus University and electro-acoustic composition at the Academy of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, and received his PhD in composition from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2016. In the fall of 2018, he was appointed Professor of Digital Media at the University of Applied Sciences Fulda.
